一直从事激光增材制造在再生医学领域应用的研究,学术贡献有:提出了微纳尺度晶粒-宏观尺度人工骨的激光微纳制造方法;揭示了纳米组合结构协同强韧化人工骨的机制与原理;实现了多级微孔结构和复杂外形的成形成性一体化制造;发展了人造结构向生物结构的转化理论与方法。近五年第一/通讯作者发表SCI论文98篇;其中影响因子>3.0论文38篇,JCR1区46篇;被美、英等国28位院士、Science主编等正面引用1109次;出版中英文专著6(均排1);授权与申报专利52(35项排1);担任8种国际期刊编委及34SCI期刊审稿人;主持国家自然科学基金等项目19项。获教育部长江学者特聘教授、全国优秀博士学位论文、科技部创新领军人才、国家优秀青年科学基金、湖南省芙蓉学者特聘教授、霍英东教育基金、湖南省科技领军人才、湖南省杰出青年基金、新世纪优秀人才。获省医学科技一等奖1(1)、省部级二等奖3(2项排11项排2)。主持的国家自科基金获得优秀结题,发表的第一作者论文被JCR1区期刊选为封面论文,研制的人工骨在实验中移植300多例,形成的关键技术应用新增产值2.18亿元。
