The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society held an award ceremony in Changsha to present the 2025 Science and Technology Achievement Prize to Academician Zhong Jue.
The Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society Science and Technology Prize is a comprehensive award established by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, conferred biennially. It comprises three categories: the Science and Technology Achievement Prize, the Youth Science and Technology Achievement Prize, and the Outstanding Paper Prize. The Science and Technology Achievement Prize aims to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions by proposing significant scientific theories in the field of mechanical science and technology, promoting the transformation of research outcomes, or participating in major national engineering projects.
Academician Zhong Jue has long been engaged in research areas such as the manufacturing of high-performance components and the design and control of complex electromechanical equipment. She introduced the academic concept of "extreme manufacturing," defined its fundamental principles and main research directions, which were incorporated into the national medium- and long-term science and technology plan and have had a significant international impact. She also proposed the academic idea of collaborative manufacturing for component form and performance, guiding and influencing the development of the domestic forming manufacturing field. Additionally, she established the coupling design theory and methodology for complex electromechanical systems, providing a theoretical foundation for the design of modern complex electromechanical systems. Furthermore, she advanced the precision, miniaturization, and digital design and manufacturing of high-performance electronic products, pushing advanced electronic manufacturing toward microscopic-level multivariate interaction research.
For decades, Academician Zhong Jue has remained dedicated to the forefront of scientific research. With rigorous academic spirit and relentless pursuit of innovation, she has made irreplaceable contributions to the development of China's mechanical engineering discipline and industrial upgrading. In recognition of her outstanding achievements in promoting fundamental research, applied research, technological development, and the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements in mechanical engineering, the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society has awarded her the Science and Technology Achievement Prize.
